Qualifications

  • Two Years’ Experience in Food Service Preparation in an institutional setting
  • HS Diploma/GED is the minimum requirement for employment at Luzerne County Head Start, Inc.

Responsibilities/Duties

Prepare nutritious and attractive meals for the children and the staff according to a pre-arranged menu which meets the nutritional needs of each child as specified by the Child and Adult Care Food Program and Head Start.  Participate in nutrition education activities with the teaching staff and maintain appropriate standards of cleanliness and proper food storage and preparation as outlined in the Head Start Performance Standards.

Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
Successful completion of Pre-Employment Physical Examination which includes a Tuberculosis screening (coordinated upon conditional offer of employment)
Position will require record check approval of driving record by LCHS Insurance Provider, as this position is considered a designated position requiring driving as an essential job function

(1) HIP CENTER – HAZLETON INTEGRATION PROJECT, 225 E 4th St, Hazleton PA
(2) EDWARDSVILLE CENTER – 111 Meyers Street, Edwardsville
Full Time, 10-months – works a school schedule Aug-June, 35 hrs/wk
LCHS operates on a school schedule (Aug-June)
Salary/Hourly: $10.45; Eligible for overtime pay
