Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with young children
  • Bilingual Language abilities, English/Spanish, a plus

Responsibilities/Duties

To work as a part of a team to assist in carrying out educational activities in the Head Start classroom setting. This position works with the education staff as a support in the classroom. Position can be a replacement staff for an absence in the classroom. Staff provide and maintain atmosphere in the classroom that promotes school readiness and developmentally appropriate practices for 3 and 4-year old children.

Luzerne County Head Start requires staff to possess current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal regulations. Proof of education required to meet the qualifications for position.

School year positions, working on an “as needed” basis for staff substitutions or additional classroom support
This position works during the school schedule August-June while Head Start classes are in session
Rate of Pay: $14.31/hr
