REGIONAL NURSE

Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Current Nursing License
  • Experience with preschool children preferred
  • Experience in Community Health preferred
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • High degree of professionalism

Responsibilities/Duties

To implement health and safety practices which conform to Head Start Program Performance Standards. Monitor each child’s health by performing periodic health checks, screenings and observation. Assist Family Worker in helping families obtain medical and dental services, with referrals, follow-up and treatments. Teach, practice and implement health and safety practices to children, staff and families.

Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. (LCHS) requires staff to possess current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal regulations. Position will require record check approval of driving record by LCHS Insurance Provider, as this position is considered a designated position requiring driving as an essential job function. Proof of Degree/Certification and Experience Required to meet the Qualifications for position.

(1) Position at Beekman Street Center, one location only
(2) Position in Pittston (area), with travel to Plains and Edwardsville sites
(3) Position in Nanticoke (area) with travel to Plymouth New Street and Fairview/MtTop sites

This position will require applicant to possess a valid Driver’s License with a Driver Record Check to be conducted in addition to agency required background clearances.

  • Full Time/Part Year position, School Year – 37.5 hrs/wk
  • Rate of Pay: $21.20/hr
  • Bilingual Abilities Preferred (English/Spanish) – 5% additional pay

August thru June, with an established summer break in employment between school years
