NUTRITION SPECIALIST

Qualifications

  • REGISTERED DIETICIAN with current American Dietetic Association Registration and/OR BS Degree in Nutrition
  • Basic computer literacy in email, word processing and internet navigation; knowledge of Word, Google Docs, Excel
  • Experience in providing services to children and families
  • Bilingual Language abilities a plus – English/Spanish
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • High degree of professionalism

Responsibilities/Duties

Coordinate the delivery of comprehensive health and nutrition services to Head Start children and families according to Head Start Program Performance Standards and to promote each child’s wellness by providing nutritional services that supplement and complement those of the home and community.  Plans and write the health and nutrition work plans and ensures implementation. Terms of Employment

Conditions of Employment 
Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. (LCHS) requires staff to possess current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal regulations. Position will require record check approval of driving record by LCHS Insurance Provider, as this position is considered a designated position requiring driving as an essential job function. Proof of Degree/Certification and Experience Required to meet the Qualifications for position.

Office location at LCHS Central Office, 23 Beekman Street, Wilkes-Barre.; In-Person employment
Full Time, 12-months/Full Year, 37.5 hrs/wk
Salary/Annual: $ 45,394; Position is considered “Exempt/Salaried” per the Fair Labor Standards Act and is exempt from overtime pay
Bilingual Adjustment in pay of 5% for English/Spanish language abilities
