ACCOUNTANT

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Two (2) years related experience in financial analysis
  • Advanced skills with Word, Excel, Adobe, and PowerPoint programs – MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas)
  • Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principals, laws and regulations
  • Excellent numeracy skils and an attention to detail with the ability to analyze and present complex data
  • Familiarity with Non-Profit accounting
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills
  • High degree of professionalism

Responsibilities/Duties

Oversee financial activities of the Finance Department performing complex and diverse financial duties in support of Head Start objectives. Calculating, recording and reconciling General Ledger data to ensure that transactions are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. requires staff to possess current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal regulations. Proof of Degree/Certification and Experience Required to meet the Qualifications for position.

Location, Hours & Salary
Central Office/Administrative Offices located at 23 Beekman Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA
Full Time/Full Year with base hours of work at 37.5 hrs/wk
Exempt/Salaried position; Annual Salary: $49,787
Additional compensation for advanced degree
Additional compensation for Bilingual Abilities (Eng/Spanish), 5%
