FAMILY EDUCATOR, EHS Home Visiting Program

Qualifications

  • AAS Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or closely related field; BS Degree preferable
  • Three years’ experience in Infant/Toddler Child Care with the knowledge of the principles of child health, safety, and nutrition, adult learning and family dynamics
  • Experience in instructing adults
  • Candidate with Fluency (Read, Write, Speak) in English/Spanish PREFERRED

Responsibilities/Duties

Providing support services in the Early Head Start (EHS) Home Visiting Program as a Home Visitor.
To provide early, continuous, intensive and comprehensive child development services to children, birth to age three that honor their unique characteristics enhancing their physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. Provide family support services and link families with appropriate agencies and services that enable parents to fulfill their roles as parents and to move toward self-sufficiency.

Proof of Degree/Certification and Experience Required to meet the Qualifications for position
FBI Fingerprints – PA DHS Registration/Service Code 1KG756
Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
Successful completion of Pre-Employment Physical Examination which includes a Tuberculosis screening (arrangements made upon conditional offer of employment)
Position will require record check approval of driving record by LCHS Insurance Provider, as this position is considered a designated position requiring driving as an essential job function

WILKES-BARRE – 31 Beekman Street, Wilkes-Barre
HAZLETON – Front Street, Hazleton

Full Time/Full Year position (12-months), 37.5 hrs/wk
Salary/Hourly: $ 17.23, Eligible for overtime pay
Bilingual Abilities Preferred (Eng/Spanish); Bilingual Adjustment in pay of 5%
