HEALTH ASSISTANT

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and Medical Certificate in health care field; AA/BA with Head Start experience preferred
  • Two Years’ experience in the healthcare field, data entry and medical records administration
  • Experience in Community Health preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities/Duties

To provide health education and training to staff, parents and children in the areas of health, dental care, nutrition and data collection processes. To be responsible for helping Head Start families acquire the necessary health information within designated time frames; assisting in health clinics, managing child health files and sustaining community relationships.

Terms of Employment

Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. requires staff to possess current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal regulations. Proof of Degree/Certification and Experience Required to meet the Qualifications for position.

Position available in the Beekman Steet Center with travel to local Head Start sites
Position is Full Time, 37.5 hrs/wk
Rate of Pay: $15.29/hr

$750 Sign-On Bonus
